In this uplifting, research-based and one-of-a-kind workshop, audiences experience how sound vibrations and music help re-balance brainwave activity, release stress, and strengthen neural connections.
Ronnie and Joanna blend live island-inspired music, movement, and storytelling to create a one-hour journey that’s both heartwarming and healing.
From the moment the first steel drum note plays, participants smile, sing, and move (optional) – and most importantly, remember that joy is still within reach — one song at a time.

🌴 Meet the Presenters
Joanna “The Tropical Lady” Gustafson – a 30+ year health and fitness professional who is a board-certified health coach and brain health professional, with a master’s degree in health promotion from UNC and dozens of health, fitness and music certifications. She is the creator of Tropicize™ Health and Happiness Programs, and is one of a small number of female steel drummers on the east coast.
Ronnie Tsunami – a dynamic Hawaiian-born singer/songwriter, ukulele, keyboard and steel drum musician whose energy, humor and stories light up every room. A former tech executive and trainer, Ronnie is currently a speaker, researcher and author in the fields of quantum and vibrational energy.
Together they have co-founded several bands, appeared on television, opened for famous musicians and won awards in diverse music categories including Beach, Country, Hawaiian and World: hosted by the Hawaii Music Awards, Charlotte Music Awards, and the Rising Star Awards. Their Music is the MAGIC series blends entertainment and education to inspire better health through sound and joy.

Duration: 60 minutes is average, but is adjustable
Setup: Indoor or outdoor, small stage or classroom-style seating
Includes: Live music, brain health education, interactive exercises, and handouts
Large tropical props, leis, maracas, kazoos etc. also available for a beach party vibe
